Hello anglers!
I'm sending a duplicate of an update from Even Deeper Regrets via this Kickstarter in hopes of reaching as many people as possible.
If you do not have the Even Deeper Regrets expansion and do not plan on getting it, you may safely ignore this update! This regards a colour-shift issue that affects only players with both the base game and the expansion.
For the rest of you, please read on! What follows is copied and pasted from an update on the Even Deeper Regrets Kickstarter:

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
As planned, the kit is free, but I need to charge a subsidised shipping cost of £5 to make this viable for me to provide, financially. I initially estimate this cost would be £4, but based on responses to the surveys I sent out earlier in the year and on getting shipping estimates, I've decided to set the subsidised shipping cost at £5. Also based on strong demand from that survey, I'm giving backers the option to pay MORE if they wish, to help offset my out-of-pocket costs. You can choose to pay £8 or £10 instead, both of which are still subsidised from total costs. For perspective, it costs me about £12 total to print and get a copy of the kit to an average backer in mainland USA or UK. That cost goes up considerably in other countries.
WHY WOULD I NEED THE KIT?
This is up to you to decide. It corrects a colour issue that some people may not care about and some people may care deeply about, both are valid reactions. Now that everyone has received their rewards, please compare the card backs of your base game to the expansion and see if you feel you need this kit.
This kit corrects an issue where the colour from the 1st printing of Deep Regrets and Lamentable Tentacles is noticeably different from all other printings of the game. This has minimal impact on gameplay unless you mix together the sea fish from the base game and Even Deeper Regrets, when it becomes obvious that some cards are from the expansion and some or not. It also makes it easy to tell if someone is holding an "Even Deeper Regret" or "Faint Solace" regret card.
Here's an example of the shift between printings:
The shift IS noticeable, though hard to capture on camera.
There is always some unavoidable shift in colour between printings, matching perfectly on press is impossible because it takes the inks 24 hours to dry and the colour can change in that time. However, the shift between 1st printing and the rest is outside the acceptable margin of error.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE A 1ST PRINTING?
If you got your copy of the game from the original Deep Regrets Kickstarter, it is a 1st printing, but there were also a few thousand 1st printing copies sold in retail. If you bought your game in retail before August of 2025, it it most likely a 1st printing. It sold out in August of 2025, so if you got your game after that, it's most likely unaffected.
The easiest way to tell is to look at the bottom of the box. If it says "2nd Printing" OR if it has my business address and EU rep's address (that's 3rd printing), it will not be affected by the colour shift. 1st printing has neither of those:
Note that if you have a 2nd or 3rd printing, the kit will not benefit you. The colours will be matched to what you already have, it will just be redundant and unnecessary parts. Please DO NOT request the kit if you do not have an affected copy of the base game. My company policy is to reduce waste as much as possible, and this process is already generating a lot of waste and a lot of losses for my company. Please be considerate of the environment and my finances and only request the kit if you actually need it.
WHAT'S IN THE KIT:
To be clear, these are not free hand-outs, these are replacements for a defective product. The kit contains replacements for ALL cards from both the base game AND the Lamentable Tentacles mini-expansion EXCEPT FOR those listed below.
NOT CONTAINED IN THE KIT:
NO Starting Provisions x10 (Can of Worms and Lifeboats)
NO Player Reference Cards x10
NO Dinks x25
NO Biggest Regret cards x5 (from Lamentable Tentacles)
None of the above cards are affected by the colour shift issue, so they are not being replaced. When you get the kit, you should remove ALL OTHER cards from the game and recycle them, then replace them with the new cards from the kit.
Note that the card replacement kit has priority over the five redundant cards from the errata kit. That means you should use the four fish cards and the Rod of the Infinite from the card replacement kit, not the errata kit.
WHEN WILL THE KIT SHIP?
Once pre-orders have been open for a month, I will decide on final quantities and place the order with my manufacturer. They'll need to print it and then it will the to be freighted to all the various warehouses. My hope if that it will ship out to backers starting in October, but some regions may be later depending on freight times.
WHEN WILL PRE-ORDERS CLOSE?
Pre-orders will close on 1st of September, to give as many people as possible an opportunity to sign up for the kit.
OTHER WAYS TO GET THE KIT:
As a reminder, you have the option to wait and get the card replacement kit for free with my next Kickstarter - Personal Demons - which will launch late September and deliver mid-2027. Only use this option if you already planned to support Personal Demons, I do not want you to unnecessarily back a campaign you're not interested in. This will waive any additional shipping costs because the increase to costs to ship along with other rewards is minimal.
If you do not plan to back that Kickstarter and/or you want your kit sooner, please follow this link to pre-order the card replacement kit.
WHAT IF I MISS THE PRE-ORDERS AND THE NEXT KICKSTARTER?
I will keep the kits available as long as inventory remains, but I will not reprint it. I will order overage based on sales via the pre-orders to hopefully cover future demand, but I aim to print as few copies as possible to keep my losses to a minimum and avoid creating waste. If you miss the pre-orders AND the Personal Demons Kickstarter, I may still be able to get a copy to you, but I cannot guarantee it. I'm putting out comms about the kit across as many channels a possible to avoid anyone who wants the kit slipping through the cracks and I'll do my best to supply the kit to as many people as possible, but this is a massive expense and logistical challenge for my business and I have to draw a line at some point in the future and move forward.
WHAT IF I NEED MORE THAN ONE COPY OF THE KIT?
I'm limiting pre-orders to one per backer to hopefully avoid abuse of the system, but I can deal with individuals that need more than one copy on an ad hoc basis, just message me via KS and we can discuss.
WHAT ABOUT GERMAN COPIES OF THE GAME?
Because of the much smaller audience and lower logistical complexity, German card replacement kits have already been supplied to affected backes. If you need a copy of the German card replacement kit and do not already have one, please message me directly via Kickstarter and I will investigate if I can still get a copy to you.

Hopefully I've covered everything above and this system goes off without a hitch AND I'm able to get these kits out to you in good time AND they're suitable replacements for the affected cards. What am I playing right now?
Cosmic Encounter! What an absolutely bonkers game! If you've never tried it, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. It's been around since 1977, if you can believe it, and it's obvious why it has such longevity. It's a VERY SIMPLE bluffing/bargaining game with incredibly easy to teach rules - the catch is that each player has a race (of which there are now over 200 to chose between) and each race has a unique ability that completely breaks the game in a new way. It works so incredibly well, there's an insane amount of replayability because of the sheer number of races, and it's one of those games you can pick out in a large gaming room because the table playing it is so noisy - like Secret Hitler or Camel Up.

A quick update on the status of fulfilment and a few fun things happening soon.
Deep Regrets is still hanging tough on Board Game Geek's hotness - it's consistently around #10, it's amazing to stay in the top 10 for so long. All the likes, ratings, questions and content you're producing is what's keeping it at that spot - so give yourself a big ole' hug from me for making that happen!
Shallow Regrets just launched!
Shallow Regrets launches today on Kickstarter! It's a wallet-sized version of Deep Regrets I designed and illustrated that's being published by Buttonshy. There's a free solo expansion for it designed by Mike Mullins where you fish against Frod AND an add-on expansion you can get that allows for 4-player games! I'm proud of this tiny little game, it was a blast to develop and it came out great! Huge thanks to all the folks at Buttonshy for publishing this and for helping polish and refine it into the great game it is. Buttonshy's Kickstarters are short, so jump on it fast!
On Kickstarter RIGHT NOW is this fun cocktail book/roleplaying adventure book. You mix up cocktails using the recipes provided and then serve them and play out a one-shot adventure based on that very cocktail. And one of the cocktails is inspired by Deep Regrets!
It's a very fun idea I've not seen before, go give it a peek!
The first MAJOR expansion for Deep Regrets is hitting Kickstarter at the end of June. It's already massive but I JUST CAN'T STOP adding new stuff to it. It was originally meant to have 3 new rods, 3 new reels and 9 new supplies but over the weekend I increased those numbers up to 10/10/20 and spent most of my free time drawing them up! That's in addition to almost 200 new fish and various other things. It's gargantuan and it's a lot of fun. Go give the pre-launch page a follow!

Fulfilment Update
Fulfilment is almost complete everywhere but DACH - and those are shipping soon! Here's an overview of the status of everything:
Germany/Austria/Switzerland: Fulfilment beginning next week! The games arrived in port, cleared customs and have been moved to the warehouse. Addresses are now locked and the games will begin shipping later this week from Fulfilment Europe, keep an eye out for an email from them with your tracking details.
United States: Fulfilment complete! Some orders only shipped out last week, so they may not have arrived yet, but all have been shipped at this point!
APAC: Fulfilment complete except for Singapore! Those orders should ship out shortly!
Australia/New Zealand: Fulfilment complete!
Canada: Fulfilment complete!
UK/EU/Rest of World: Fulfilment complete!

What am I playing right now?
Guts of Glory! This is one of my prize possessions. A VERY small run indie board game that is deeply weird and unbalanced, but so thematically my jam and so chaotic that I just love it. You're survivors in a post-apocalyptic wasteland engaged in a 'gentleman's competition' to cram as much strange stuff into your mouth as possible - and then spew it into other people's mouths. All to gain glory. It was designed by Zach Gage, more well known for his work on indie video games, and saw a very small release over a decade ago. I took a lot of inspiration from its "eat weird stuff" mechanics when designing Deep Regrets, as well as its very tongue-in-cheek rules writing. I doubt you can find a copy, but if you can, snatch it up and give it a go. It's unhinged fun.

Hello Anglers!
I'll be sending updates more often until fulfilment completes, just to keep everyone in the loop. Aiming for roughly every fortnight. That's every two weeks for people that live in subpar countries that are not majestic, transcendent Scotland.
It's been an absolute whirlwind for me recently, trying to stay on top of all the kind words, posts, shares, questions, feedback, and community engagement. I try to respond to every single post/comment/etc but it's getting a bit difficult to manage! Stop being so kind! 🖤
I had a fun launch event here in Edinburgh a few weeks ago where folks could come have a beer, play the game and chat. Thanks to everyone who came out and thanks to Argonaut Books and Ancient Robot Games for hosting and arranging!

As of the time of writing, Deep Regrets has been NUMBER ONE on the BoardGameGeek hotness for a full week! There was even a 24 hour period where Shallow Regrets was number two! It's so surreal, I genuinely can't process it!

Fulfilment update
Fulfilment is still ongoing in all regions. The majority of folks have now received their games but there's still plenty in the wind, on the sea, and waiting in the wings to be dispatched. Here's the current status of fulfilment for all regions:
APAC: I was incorrect about fulfilment in this region being complete. It turns out VFI have sent some inventory to their Singapore hub to continue fulfilment and it will take a few weeks for that inventory to reach that warehouse before fulfilment can be completed. This means backers in some regions will still have to wait a while until their games ship.
Australia/New Zealand: Fulfilment is complete! If you have not received your games or at least received an email notifying you of a shipment from Let's Play Games, please email [email protected] to check the status of your shipment. As a reminder, there were issues with a few backers being sent the retail version of the game in place of the KS edition in error - if you were one of the affected recipients, please email [email protected] to discuss your options. The only difference is that the KS edition is wrapped in newsprint instead of sealed with stickers.
Canada: Fulfilment is nearly complete! Fulfilment will continue for the next few weeks, so if you haven't received a notification yet, stay tuned and hopefully it will arrive soon.
United States: Fulfilment is nearly complete! You should receive an email from Tettix Games with details of the shipment and tracking information. Fulfilment will continue for the next few weeks, so if you don't receive a notification immediately, stay tuned and hopefully it will arrive soon. No need to flag up missing orders yet, they're still actively shipping stuff out!
Germany/Austria/Switzerland: Fulfilment is now slated to begin Mid March. The shipping vessel (ONE TRIUMPH) had to reroute around Africa because of congestion in the suez canal, it's currently in Rotterdam and is scheduled for arrival into Germany in a little over a week. Once it's docked it'll take a few weeks to unload, process through customs, and move the inventory to the warehouse.
UK/EU/Rest of World: Fulfilment is nearly complete! The majority of shipments have already been sent out, but Zatu is still working through a few. If you have not received your games or at least received an email notifying you of a shipment from Zatu by the end of next week, please email [email protected] to check the status of your shipment.
Missing and damaged items
For customers in the US, there will be a delay in sending out missing or damaged item replacements. Our fulfilment partner is refusing to offer this service so we're going to get another partner to help us, but it will take a bit of time to transfer the spare parts to them. We have all the requests logged and will send out the replacements as soon as possible.

Shallow Regrets Launching Soon!
The game I designed for ButtonShy is launching in May on Kickstarter, make sure you go follow the campaign and check it out when it drops! It's a very fun pared down version of Deep Regrets that fits in your pocket and plays in under 15 minutes. Great for ensuring your distant relatives can still experience a healthy sense of regret when you come to visit.
There's even a solo mode expansion designed by Mike Mullins and a four-player expansion designed by me!

Errata update!
I posted in the last update about errata found in the final version of the game. There are four additional things to note and I've put together an official errata list here on BoardGameGeek:
The "cycle the market" icon on the reference cards should be ignored, it's a holdover from an older ruleset and is not used in the game
A few players noted that it was unclear whether they could use items and eat fish at port. You can!
In solo mode, unlocked tackle dice are not discarded when used.
On the solo survey sheet, "Treasure Chest" should be written in the space under Whale of Rocabarraigh. Because it's discarded when revealed, it cannot be brought back to port.
What am I playing right now?
Elden Ring! I'm a big fan of FromSoft games, as you might know from me talking about them nonstop. So when a chance came up to check out the board game version of Elden Ring, I jumped right on it. I must admit, though: this one's not for me. I don't feel like it captures the essence of the source material very well and it's not the type of board game I'd normally play otherwise. Nevertheless, I'm glad I got to check it out!
